The fees, in the order Etsy applies them
- Listing fee — $0.20 per listing. Charged when you publish and again every four months on renewal, whether or not it sells.
- Transaction fee — 6.5%. Charged on the item price plus the shipping you charge the buyer. This is the line most sellers forget, and on a low-price/high-shipping item it is material.
- Payment processing — about 3% + $0.25 in the US, varying by country.
- Offsite Ads — 15% or 12%. Only on orders that came from an Etsy-placed offsite ad. Under $10,000 of sales in the past 365 days it is 15% and you can opt out; at $10,000 or more it is 12% and mandatory.
A $30 item with $5 shipping costs about $3.78 in mandatory fees, rising to about $9.03 with Offsite Ads at 15%.
Why this matters for Pinterest
Every order arriving from your own pin is an order with no Offsite Ads fee attached. That is a 12–15% margin difference on those orders, and it is a stronger argument for the channel than any traffic statistic.

No. An order that arrives from your own Pinterest pin, newsletter or social post carries no Offsite Ads fee, which is worth 12–15% of margin on those orders.
