Free Pinterest keyword tool

Enter two or three seed terms and this crosses them with the modifier patterns that dominate Pinterest search — intent words, audience words, format words and season words — to produce long-tail phrases. Verify the promising ones against Pinterest's guided-search tiles, which are ordered by real search demand.

30 phrases

Each phrase links straight to Pinterest search. If Pinterest offers refinement tiles under the bar for it, there is real demand — and the tiles are ordered most-searched first, so their order is your priority order.

Free, no account, and nothing you enter leaves your browser.

What this is and is not

It is a combination generator. It takes your seeds and crosses them with the modifier families that dominate Pinterest search, so you get the long-tail phrasings you would not have thought of.

It is not a volume tool. Nobody can give you honest Pinterest volume for free, because Pinterest does not publish it. What Pinterest does publish, at no cost, is a ranking:

  • Guided search tiles. Type a seed into Pinterest search and the coloured tiles underneath are ordered by search demand, most-searched first. Three levels deep on one seed gives you thirty-plus real, ranked phrases.
  • Ads keyword planner. Create a business account, start a campaign, stop at the keyword step. You get monthly search volume ranges for Pinterest specifically, without launching or paying for anything.

Generate candidates here, verify them there. A generated phrase is a hypothesis; a tile is evidence. Every keyword this tool produces carries its own check links straight into both sources, so verifying a list is clicking, not retyping.

Where Pinterest search volume actually comes from

There are exactly two places, and both are free:

SourceWhat it gives youWhat it costs
Pinterest TrendsTrend line over 12 months, relative interest, related terms, breakdowns by age and genderNothing, no account
Pinterest Ads keyword fieldMonthly search volume ranges for Pinterest specificallyA free business account; stop at the keyword step and publish nothing
Guided search tilesRanked demand order, most-searched firstNothing

Paid tools model a number from these same signals and present it as a figure. That is a legitimate product, and it is worth knowing that the underlying data is a range and a rank, not a measured count — which is why this tool shows you the rank and links to the range rather than inventing a decimal.

Where the keywords go

Pinterest reads five fields, and keywords in titles, descriptions and board names are the top-weighted input:

  1. Pin title — in the first 40 characters, before it truncates.
  2. Pin description — in a real sentence, not a comma-separated list.
  3. Board title — the category term, not a cute name.
  4. Board description — two or three sentences of the phrases that board should rank for.
  5. Text on the image itself — read by Pinterest, and the field everyone forgets.

A phrase in the title and nowhere else is doing a fraction of the work available to it.

The full method, including the related-searches row and why Google volumes mislead, is in Pinterest keyword research using only Pinterest.

Common questions

Does this show Pinterest search volume?

No, and be sceptical of any free tool that claims to. Pinterest publishes no per-keyword volume API, so every number you see elsewhere is modelled. What Pinterest does give away free is a ranking and a trend line — this tool builds the check links for both, next to each keyword it generates.

How do I check Pinterest search volume for free?

Two official sources, both free. Pinterest Trends (trends.pinterest.com) shows the trend line and relative interest for a term, no account needed. The keyword field in Pinterest Ads shows monthly volume ranges — you need a free business account and to start creating a campaign, but you stop at the keyword step and never pay or publish anything.

How do I check which generated phrases are real?

Type the phrase into Pinterest search. If Pinterest offers refinement tiles for it, there is demand. The tiles are ordered most-searched first, so their order is your priority order.

Can I use Google keyword volumes for Pinterest?

Badly. Pinterest skews to planning and visual intent, so 'ideas', 'aesthetic' and 'on a budget' phrases over-index there while 'review', 'vs' and 'near me' phrases under-index. Use Pinterest's own data.

How many keywords should one pin target?

One, written into a sentence a person would actually say. Stuffing five phrases into a title splits its relevance across all five and reads as spam to anyone who opens it.

Is there a limit on how many keywords I can generate?

No. The whole tool runs in your browser — there is no account, no quota and no request to us, so nothing here can be metered.
